We spent this past Christmas in Boulder, Colorado with Mike's family.  It was my first brown Christmas, and not only was there no snow, it was in the mid-40s on Christmas Day and I got a sunburn while taking a long walk around the neighborhood.  We spent most of our trip doing Christmas-y things and visiting with Mike's family, but we had time for a few Boulder highlights:

The free factory tour at Celestial Seasonings gives you a behind-the-scenes look at how Celestial Seasonings teas are milled, blended, and packaged.  The tour takes you right onto the factory floor (hair nets required) and also includes a stop at the tasting room, with free samples of each of the 70+ varieties of Celestial Seasonings tea.  Of course, there is a gift shop selling all those teas at bargain prices, and we took the opportunity to stock up on our favorites.

We spent a pleasant afternoon browsing at the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder, with its plethora of local shops and restaurants.  Lindsay's Boulder Deli is  the ultimate lunch spot: in the winter, they feature a rotating menu of seven homemade soups (on the day we visited, two were vegan and an additional two were vegetarian), interesting sandwiches bursting with fresh ingredients, giant fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies, a full coffee menu, and Häagen Dazs ice cream.  My favorite shop is Peppercorn, a two-floor kitchen and home store with a comprehensive cookbook section, every kitchen gadget you could imagine, artisan and local food products, and much, much more.
