I’m Stacy Brooks, a Minneapolis-based blogger and freelance journalist.  I love roasting potatoes, eating dessert, and exploring new places.  I’m already planning my next vacation, but I can’t imagine living anywhere besides Minnesota.

Tangled Up In Food features food-focused travel writing, coverage of the Minneapolis-St. Paul dining scene, and recipes.  From the best coffee shops in the Twin Cities to seasonal vegetarian soups, Tangled Up In Food highlights all things food and the stories behind the flavors.

I don't run ads on Tangled Up In Food—providing a quality experience to my readers outweighs the modest amount I would earn from advertising, and I want control over what content appears on my blog.  I don't do affiliate links and sponsored posts are few and far between, typically 2-3 per year.  Occasionally, I attend media previews and accept complimentary meals, services, and products.  I always disclose when this is the case.

My journalistic work has been published in Business Insider, Thrillist, the Kitchn, Midwest Living, the Minnesota Star Tribune, and Atlas Obscura.  I'm a frequent contributor to the Heavy Table, a Minneapolis-St. Paul and Upper Midwest food publication.  A selection of my clips is available on my portfolio site.

I write about the the complex journey of becoming a Jew-by-choice with essays about identity, ritual, and spirituality at Still Proofing, my newsletter and blog.
